People have recommended for me to watch Welcome To The Dollhouse, which I HATED. Also Pulp Fiction, I HATED it.
Do you have any recommendations?
*I dunno if these are independent but I love them.
I also love Thirteen.
Amores Perros bored me to tears.
Usual Suspects also bored me, despite having great actors.
Nelly, I actually enjoyed Palindromes….it’s such a weird film.
Check out the film Osama (2003), the first film made in Afghanistan after the fall of the Taliban.

Shoot. I was going to suggest one of Todd Salondz’s films…. but one of which is Welcome to the Dollhouse. His others ones I know of are Palindromes and Happiness. But if you hated WTTD, don’t bother.
You might like Sherrybaby. That was pretty good. Another I can think of I liked was called Loverboy.

At least read about Faces by John Cassavetes. It was probably the first truly independant film to be seen and taken seriously by more than a handful of people; it was nominated for 3 Academy Awards.
