How does one get into the animation field?
I want to be able to create my own cartoons eventually. I love the unique worlds such as Cowboy Bebop, or Aeon Flux… and I want to know how to get a job like that.

I graduated from art college several years ago. AAC in the bayarea. If you don’t know anyone who’s in animation field, you can try to present your idea and art work to the teachers in art school. Most of teachers in my school are not professional educator but professional artist. Such as most teachers who is teaching animation may from the big film company. Some of them fly from LA to give us class everyweek.
I thought you may start from their if you go some good stuff. But if you really got some great stuff, be careful with who you deal with. We had sign the contract that all our works belong to school when we were. I have known there some teachers keep student’s idea become their own…

IMDB rating: 7.60

Plot: Troublemaking duo Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno, posing as their industrious alter-egos, expose the people profiting from Hurricane Katrina, the faces behind the environmental disaster in Bhopal, and other shocking events.

Directors: Bichlbaum Andy

Would you like to save the planet for new years?
The true culprit in Global Climate Change is the SUN! BUT, whether you believe it is caused by mans green house gas emissions OR through natural cycles, one FACT is clear: In 5 billion years, the SUN will destroy all life on Earth. Once the Sun exhausts its hydrogen fuel, it will bloat into a red giant. Its surface will engulf Venus and may extend to our orbit.

Science backs this fact. Nuclear energy my friends is going to kill every polar bear, furry little seal and talking cartoon rabbit and dear on this planet! Yes, the same type of energy developed by the USA with the sole intent to murder peace loving Asians on the brink of surrender will destroy Mother Earth in the future.

The only course of action we as humans with a social conscience can take is to destroy the Sun, and do it before it gets a chance to destroy our precious planet. Right now, the Sun is sending harmful UV light which is fueling the green house effect, it is also a key component to the climate of the Earth…IT must be stopped if we are to truly survive. We can sit here and point fingers or we can attack the source of the problem head on.

Will you join us in our struggle for survival by writing your representatives and demand that they encourage global cooperation in this Earth saving task? If you wait another 5 billion years, it will be too late!

In order to buy time, we must reclaim as much hydrogen here on earth and send it to the Sun in order to post-pone the inevitable until technology is developed that will destroy it.

The UN needs to establish a Global Hydrogen Reclamation Committee, staffed by the best and brightest sociologist. This committee will be responsible for deciding on which nations have surplus hydrogen based on potable water supplies and indoor plumbing. These nations will contribute those surpluses of hydrogen to be collected on behalf of the world, to be sent directly to the Sun in order to stave off disaster just one more day.

It may sound impossible, but it is better than doing nothing until a suitable solution to destroy the Sun can be found.

We must work to get China and India on board. Also consider the benefits gained from "Yellow" technologies! Jobs will be created in the Global Hydrogen Reclamation Division and there will be many more jobs directed toward creating a device or method to destroy the Sun.

While the "Green" movement seeks to profit from a temporary "fix", the "Yellow" movement actually seeks to stop the problem at its source! By destroying it once and for all. Only then will this life giving planet be habitable for cola drinking polar bears, sad eyed baby seals, hyper-intelligent dolphins and talking cartoon animals. Unless of course you deny the science which backs the fact that the Sun will exhaust its fuel source and become a red giant…thus destroying all those lovable creatures previously mentioned. Or are you in the pocket of "Big Green"? Bent on raking in profits from temporary and futile fixes with out a care about what will come in the long run…?

Something must be done now to ensure the survival of our life giving planet for eternity! Governmental action must be called upon in order to save Mother Earth from eminent destruction. We here at M.A.N./F.I.R.S.T. (Mankind Against Nuclear Fusion Intent on Reversing Solar Tyranny) believe the science is settled on this issue. Big Green would rather profit in the short run with curly light bulbs and electric cars, but WE offer a solution to a very real problem!

Icarus: So you base your thought on what you did not read? The science is settled. The Sun WILL indeed destroy this life giving planet as long as we do nothing. Open your mind and stop being a denier.

would i like to save the planet for new years? NO WAY! i want to get all i can out of the planet while i am alive. i want to squeeze the planet like a wet sponge, then run it through a ringer and get every fricking drop of potential out this planet just for me. when i am dead i won’t care a whit about the planet, let the future generations find another planet to use, as for me… i want it all and i want it now!

| Jan 01, 2010

There’s no way I’m reading all of that. But you’re against nuclear. So we get rid of it. What do we fill the void with? Coal? Oil?

Anything else is either ineffective or untested.

Wait, "The only course of action we as humans with a social conscience can take is to destroy the Sun"
Around here I decided you aren’t serious.
Dass | Jan 01, 2010

"The true culprit in Global Climate Change is the SUN!"

Long disproven, sorry. The true culprit is human activity – principally the burning of fossil fuels.
icarus62 | Jan 01, 2010

Yeah, what you said.
Amazing how the political man thinks he can save the world.
The world has been reparing and replenishing itself all by it’s self without "his"help.
I agree "the political man" wants my last dollar and he will think up anything to get it.

[In Your Opinion] What's Some Bad Movies That Had Potential To Be Good?
Im talking about movies that looked really entertaining on the preview, or just the hype about them, and when you saw it, they were horrible.

I got a few.

Tropic Thunder. Some big names in it, but didn’t cause any big laughs.

Strange Wilderness. This was a big hit and miss for having Adam Sandler behind it. Plus there was actually funny actors that starred in it, but to no luck failed.

The Punisher sequel. I actually feel asleep to it. What happened?

Carlito’s way: rise to power. Remind me not to buy straight to DVD films ever again.

The DaVinci Code…
All the right subject matter was there, but the presentation was pretentious and contrived. Also, Dan Brown plagiarised ALL his ideas for this story from Baigent, Lincoln and Lee. I think it’s all stuff worth consideration, but doesn’t translate well to film.

Timeline…
The book by Michael Crichton was sooooooo much fun, well-written, exciting and adventurous and does just what you expect from a good novel…doesn’t allow you to put it down and makes you easily feel as if you are right there in the story.
Some extremely key elements of the book were ignored in the movie, the acting and directing were equally lifeless…and I resent the director for this because I know it likely has turned people away from reading the novel.

Solaris (2002 version)…
My favorite film of all time is the original Russian 1972 version of Solaris, directed by Andrei Tarkovsky. It’s the most original and beautiful and mesmerizing "film experience" and to me it will never get old no matter how many repeat viewings.
This movie introduced things not in the book at all. Actually, the book’s beginning occurs 45 minutes into the film. Also, there were some occurences set on the planet in the book, which were entirely omitted in the film. Even the central theme was altered. Despite all this, it WORKED in a way it otherwise may not have.
Sodergergh’s updated version attempted to remake the first film almost shot-for-shot, rather than taking the chance to translate the original story. (Why do something exactly the same, but with sub-par actors and lifeless direction?) All the actors were very, very poorly cast. Ultimately pointless effort. Cronenberg should have done it!

Benjamin Button. The idea was FANTASTIC and the storyline was good, but the way they executed it..they had so much more potential they could’ve reached, but nope, didn’t hit it.

Still a good movie, but I expected more from it.

The Hustler (1962?) with Paul Newman, George C. Scott and Jackie Gleason.

It was really great for the twenty minutes that they were playing pool. The rest was an ill-advised, long, and poorly-executed snoozefest.

X-Men Origins Wolverine. Download the leaked copy on the internet to see what I mean, not a good movie at all. weak plot, bad acting, poor continuity with the other films, poor character development and basically pisses on the actual comic books.

Godzilla (1998) and Halloween (2007). I think Rob Zombie butchered what could have been a great movie. Shame.

Running Man- The original story written by John Bachman (aka Stephen King) was so well written and would have translated to film beautifully but they didn’t even come remotely close to sticking to the story line.

Suggestion on what color shoes to go with…?
I know I’m a bit early for prom stuff, but I’m ordering my dress in like 2 days, and I want to start to be on the lookout for shoes and accessories to go with it:

http://www.newyorkdress.com/Terani/95119 Y.html

that’s going to be my dress, could someone be kind enough to suggest a color/colors of a shoes i should be keeping an eye out for? And do you think platforms are good for this dress? I love platforms =]

Black strapped heels would be your best bet since there is already alot going on at the top so simple is safest. But if you want to be edgy, a nice pastel color heel or beachy looking platform in pale yellows, pinks, and blues, would also be a nice way to go. Platforms would go well with the dress considering its beachy quality. Look out for platforms with light brown or tan heels. You may even be able to find some with twine wrapped around the heel and this would really compliment your look. Dangling earrings and loose hair matches this well. Try beachy waves, and you could maybe even take some notes from the models make up!!

I am looking for that song in Wild hogs where tim allen is riding the bike towards that guy tied up in rope in the street. Its a rock song. Its not on the soundtrack. Its really rockish!

The song is ‘Thunder Kiss ’65′ by White Zombie. It was the only single released from their album ‘ Le Sexorcisto: Devil Music Vol 1′, which was released in 1992. It also features on Guitar Hero.
